Aitutaki Accommodation
Budget to luxury accommodation is available at Aitutaki Lagoon.
Things to do at Aitutaki Lagoon: The natural beauty of Aitutaki and its inherent tranquillity go hand in hand with relaxation - by the pool, on a white sand beach or in a hammock shaded by coconut palms. Activities include scuba diving or fishing outside of the fringing reef or snorkelling, swimming or kayaking the calm, clear lagoon waters. Lagoon cruises to the deserted motu are also available. Aitutaki Island itself offers a number of historic points of interest, or visit the market in the main town of Amuri.
Facts about Aitutaki: Aitutaki atoll is about 220 kilometres north of Rarotonga and there are regular scheduled flights daily via Air Rarotonga. The airstrip is on the northern part of Aitutaki Island. There are three islands of volcanic origin (including the largest island of Aitutaki) plus a chain of smaller islets, or motu. These enclose the expansive lagoon, which is about 45 kilometres round.
